I grew up around Viva Cosmetics. For the longest time, I can remember seeing the plastic bottles of their milk cleanser, astringent, face tonics, hand and body lotion, and other various items at home. Regardless of the brand of skin care or cosmetics they use, the women in family (starting with my late Grandma) have been religiously using Viva for their face cleansing ritual. I too, follow this tradition by using Viva as one of my cleansing products.
Last week while browsing for product reviews I stumbled upon some Indonesian beauty blogs who wrote about their experience getting freebies from Viva Cosmetics simply by registering on their website http://www.vivacosmetic.com Now, you guys know how much I love freebies (and who doesn’t?), so I decided to give it a try. I filled my complete information here, then confirmed my registration by clicking the link they sent to my email. It was that easy.
But then I got sucked into Viva’s website and started clicking at their list of products to find that Viva actually produces wide array of beauty products. I found out that Viva has new products from acne gel to shampoos! And who knew that they also make body paintings – available in 12 colors at affordable price? I’m pleasantly surprised to learn more about a brand that I thought I knew so well already.
After spending some time at Viva’s website, I decided to try their online shop. At first I just added the acne gel and eye base gel to my cart, then I realized that there is a minimum of Rp. 50,000 purchase per transaction. So I clicked some more, and added some stuff I wanted to try and some essentials. My total came to Rp. 52,700 for 7 items, excluding shipping charges since they cannot give the shipping quotes immediately. I put my order on Saturday and only on Monday did I get a text message and an email to inform me of the total I had to transfer to pay for my order. They charged me Rp. 11,400 to ship from their factory in Surabaya to Jakarta, which I think is a very reasonable rate. So after I transferred the money to their account, I just replied their text message to let them know about the transfer. In a few hours, I got another email confirming my payment and the next day, another email with my shipping tracking information.
In two days, I received this package. Look at how securely they package the products!
The yellow wrapped box contains the freebies I got from signing up at their website. They’ll give you random products, but I think I got some good ones : face mask, air mawar, compact powder in natural, moist cream, peeling cream, collagen night cream, and moisture lipstick from their Viva Queen line, and a booklet of their complete products.
And these are the items I bought: Green tea milk cleanser and face tonic, Cucumber face tonic, Lidah Buaya shampoo, Eye base gel, Acne gel, and Avocado lulur mandi. I will review the eye base gel on a separate post, but so far I’m loving the things I bought here.
I find my experience to shop at Viva Cosmetics’ webstore to be a pleasant one. Of course there are some rooms for improvement. I would prefer to know my shipping charges immediately, because sometimes the shipping cost can make or break the transaction. I find that the price of cleansers are more expensive than in my local supermarket, although the lulur mandi is priced about the same with retail price. I can’t compare the price of the shampoo, eye base gel and acne gel since I haven’t found them at the stores yet.
With this webstore, I think I will be more susceptible to try Viva’s new products. Sure, then I will have to buy other stuff too to get to the minimum Rp. 50,000 purchase since their products are so affordable, but then I can stock on essentials. To be honest, this is the kind of online shopping that I love, where I can get things I need regularly (there’s always need for Viva cleansing products in this house) without the hassle of shopping at supermarkets 😀
