How exciting is this? Tory Burch is America’s sweetheart of designer goods, with a label that skyrocketed after she opened her first store opened in New York back in 2004. I can’t believe it’s been only ten years since her name made it big in the collective consciousness of the fashion world; but in that very short amount of time, she has built an empire that now includes Tory Burch Beauty and Tory Burch Home, a label that includes furniture, home furnishings, and decor. This woman has gone from peddling designer accessories and clothes to being a bona fide lifestyle label in ten years! The most commendable thing I’ve achieved in the past ten years was learn how to make poached eggs.
Tory has amassed a legion of fans who love both her work and her work ethic. I’m sure her fans in Indonesia will be happy to hear that the first Tory Burch store opened its doors here very recently! It’s located on the first floor of Jakarta’s Plaza Senayan, where the visitor will be greeted by the recognizable Tory Burch logo on her trademark orange facade. Crossing the threshold and stepping into the store feels like stepping into the walk-in closet of your dreams.
You need to know that I have never been as obsessed with a store’s interiors as I am with this one. The bowels of the store are actually modeled after Tory’s own apartment, with lots of mirrors lining the walls to make the already large space an impression of it being even bigger than it already is. I love the gold trimming on the furniture and shelves, and I love how the place looks like an illustration out of a geometry textbook (I guess I have a thing for right angles).
The store is packed Tory Burch pieces from the Fall 2014 and Resort 2015 collections, not forgetting of course the shoes and accessories that made her a staple among the style elite. You can also see the super limited edition black python handbag designed exclusively for the Jakarta opening: only 20 were ever made, so you better be quick on making that purchase if you live for limited edition goods!
No sign of Tory Burch Home or Tory Burch Beauty yet, but let’s keep our fingers crossed so we can get our hands on even more lipsticks to review!
