Max Factor Celebrates 100 Years of Glamour

seo-img-article

Trends fluctuate, but glamour is eternal: that’s why for their 100 year anniversary, Max Factor wants to celebrate the most memorable moments of glamour that defined each decade. The man behind the brand, Max Factor himself, firmly believed that all women were born with beauty, and he wanted to help them take that beauty to the next glamour level. He dedicated his time to innovating products that changed the landscape of the beauty industry forever. He is  single-handedly responsible for marketing cosmetics in a way that made society accept them as products for all women and not just stage actors, who were the only people who really used make up at the time. What else do you expect from the man who coined the term “make up” to describe his products?

To help celebrate 100 years of this benchmark brand, Max Factor will unleash new shades for three of its much-beloved products to help you achieve the glamorous look that highlighted women of different decades: the Lipfinity Lip ColourColour Elixir Gloss, and Gel Shine Lacquer.

The Lipfinity Lip Colour is a catwalk staple, with long-lasting color that promises to last 24 hours. Soon, you will be able to take your pick from 16 new shades, so you achieve that . Since I’m currently going through a love affair with makeup inspired by the ’60s (Diana Rigg in On Her Majesty’s Secret Service is a particular favorite), I’m going to thoroughly enjoy the Lipfinity in Always Delicate, a pink nude that’s soft and creamy. Always Delicate is part of the Ready to Wear collection, a set of 16 shades — including corals, reds, and nudes — that combine high sheen appeal with lasting power.

Then there’s the Colour Elixir Gloss, for anyone who might want a little more shine to their smiles. There’s something very fabulously ’80s about glossy lips, a decade touted for its loudness and sensation-seeking zeitgeist. In the ’80s, powder blush was generously swiped from the apple of the cheeks all the way to the temples in a show of rebellion against the softly-countoured decade before it. The Colour Elixir Gloss collection also presents 16 new shades to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Max Factor, and leading the pack is the high-impact Polished Fuchsia. This gloss offers a pigmented color with unbeatable shine that’s also lightweight, so you don’t get that gross sticky feeling as you would with other glosses.

For nail art aficionados, you’ll be excited to hear that the Gel Shine Lacquer has also readied new shades for your enjoyment. Now, nail art didn’t really take off until the ’00s, but good grief — when it took off, it really took off. Your claws will take off to the outer reaches of space and style once you coat them with the Gel Shine Lacquer, a nail polish that gives you gel-quality shine and staying power. The Modern Glamour Collection features 9 shades that lets you re-live four different decades: the classic red of the ’50s, the nostalgic and contemporary blues of the ’70s, the bright megawatt colors of the ’80s, and the rich wine reds and pinks from the ’90s.
