One of my favorite pairs of footwear are a pair of black patent leather Ferragamo loafers, bought in 1989 on a visit to Paris made by my mother. In addition to the obvious sentimental value of the shoes, I still love them because:

Throughout college, I wore my beloved black Tod’s ballerina flats through sunny Midwestern springs, humid Midwestern summers, chilly falls, and icy winters — and they live to tell the tale for more walks through different types of weather.
