A while ago,  I went The Body Shop to buy my ultimate favorite body butter, but something else caught my eye: on a big green poster on the window was a photo of a product that promised 5 days to a more radiant skin. Turns out it was something called Drops of Youth, a product from the NUTRIGANICS.

TBS NutriganicsThis is supposed to be a pre-serum, but since my skincare routine is very simple (cleanse, tone, moisture), I decided to just use this as a serum for my oily and dehydrated skin. I do not want too many products on my skin that can cause more oil buildup, anyway. The product texture is similar to a very runny gel: it is cool and watery, and gets absorbed very quickly into skin.

It says that it contains “…criste-marine plant stem cells and beech bud extract, known to help enhance surface skin renewal. It evens out skin tone, smoother, fresher, and healthier skin.”  I’m not the type to fall for big promises found on the product packaging, but after trying one drop — yes, ONE DROP — on the back of my right hand and letting it sink into the skin, I immediately felt the difference. My left hand felt dry and almost scaly, but my right hand felt smoother, more supple, and more elastic. I was amazed and bought the product.

I think the packaging design is good. The bottle is transparent, so you can see how much product you have left. The suction cap accurately dispenses the exact amount of product you want, so there is a very little chance of overusing or wasting the product. But because it is a glass bottle, it is quite heavy and a bit tricky to transfer for traveling purposes. I bought the 50ml bottle because there was not a big difference from the 30ml version.

So my first impression of The Body Shop’s Nutriganics Drops of Youth is that it is a good product, and I have high expectations for it. This pre-serum is very lightweight and has a nice cooling and smoothing effect to the skin.  But have you tried it? What do you think of it? Let me know if this product has worked out for you or not, I would love to hear more about it.
