#FDBeauty Video Tutorial: Makeup for the Office

seo-img-article

Different workplaces have different regulations on how much makeup you can wear daily to the office. The safest way to not breach company policies are to stick to a soft, natural look — so avoid loud eyeshadows and go easy on the blush on. Here’s a tutorial by Maharani Nilla on how you can achieve the perfect look the next time you get ready for a day at work.

Here are a couple of useful tips to keep in mind the next time you doll up:

  • Face primers are your best friend. Don’t skimp on these babies, because primers will help foundation stay on longer, especially if you have oily skin. The one used in this video is The POREFessional by Benefit, but other notable primers include Smashbox Photo Finish Foundation Primer and the HD Primer by Make Up For Ever.
  • Apply foundation with a damp sponge. Okay, I just realized that “damp sponge” is a great way to describe someone with abhorrent personality traits — but it’s also a great method for applying liquid foundation if you’re looking for a natural, non-cakey finish. Try dabbing the Beauty Blender in a bit of water for the desired finish.
  • Use a brow gel to help eyebrows stay in shape. Don’t forget to brush and use a concealer under the eyebrows for a final look that is more tidy and one that strengthens the shape of the eyebrow.
  • Focused eyeshadow application. Focus the application of eyeshadow on the outer corners of eyes. For a look that is suitable for your everyday needs, avoid glittery eyeshadows.
