Several months ago, lautbiru successfully made me fall deeply in love with KATE BB Cream, and I was so bummed out when it finally ended up in my empties box (expect that on my next Good to the Last Drop post!) since I use it almost every day. I haven’t found another BB cream that works as well as the KATE BB Cream, but I’m open to trying and applying new products for the meantime.
The products that I want to talk in this post are from Belif, a Korean brand that claims to use only safe ingredients and natural formulas in their products. Its focus is in the products and they are simple on packaging, giving the products a dermatologist/pharmacy vibe thanks to their spartan design. Last year, I tried the Hungarian Essence and The Aqua Herb Cream from Belif and can still remember enjoying those two products, so I didn’t pass on the chance to try these two Belif products when Nopai offered them to me
I’ve been trying the Belif Tinted Moisturizer Basic BB this past week. Like other Korean BB Creams, it also has up to SPF 30 for sun protection. This Basic BB has a light texture and hydrates the skin well. The coverage is not as full as I want it to be, but it’s more than all right for everyday use.
The only thing that bothered me is the shade: as most of us probably already know, most Korean BB creams have a beige or gray tone. Truth be told, tt looks a little funny on top of my skin’s yellow undertones. If I were wearing it just for the office all day, the discoloration wouldn’t bother me. I don’t care if my face looks slightly different from my neck and chest, since I don’t want to waste the product by blending it over every inch of my upper body. I’m too lazy to do that, so if I need perfect coverage and color, I just trust my foundation to do the job. But surprisingly enough, the lasting power is pretty good! When I went to the gym with Dhany, she asked me what foundation I was using because the coverage on my face was still full. She was surprised when I told her it was just a BB cream
Now let’s check out the next one, Belif Awesome Sun Powder SPF 50+ PA+++. From its name alone, we can expect sun protection that we usually get from plain old sunscreen. The bright yellow packaging is more attractive than the the design on the BB cream, I think. There’s also a mirror behind the cap, which is also helpful when I need touch-ups on the go. It comes with a puff, but I usually apply this powder with my big powder brush.
The powder has a transparent finish and doesn’t alter the color of my skin. If you don’t like adding another layer of sunscreen on your face in the morning or in the middle of the day, I think this is a great alternative to protect from UV rays because it is very quick and easy to use. I’ve actually found that this powder working wonderfully as a setting powder to help me from looking like a shiny disco ball
