 <div class="container">Do you remember a dual screen Ultrabook named "Taichi" I raved about <a href="http://www.fashionesedaily.com/blog/2012/12/06/the-ultrabook-convertible-lineups-which-one-fits-your-lifestyle/">here</a>? ASUS devices has been on my watch-list for so long, but haven't really gotten a chance to do a hands-on review. I met both FonePad and FonePad Note for the first time, during my trip to Computex 2013 with Intel. Obviously, I can't resist to get my hands-on these two hybrids. ASUS FonePad is a merge between two form factor; a phone and a tablet or a phablet for short. Yes, phablet is a new word that still sounds weird to me, hence I chose to use the word hybrid instead, or maybe I am just still unsure how to pronounce it ha! :D <a rel="attachment wp-att-60173" href="http://www.fashionesedaily.com/blog/2013/08/01/techie-thursday-asus-fonepad-and-fonepad-note/asus_fonepad/"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-60173" title="ASUS_Fonepad" src="//www.fashionesedaily.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/ASUS_Fonepad-600x540.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="540" /></a>  <ul> 	<li>FonePad</li> </ul> This sleek phablet has a 7" display which fits perfectly on the palm of my hand and is definitely light enough to carry around.  FonePad runs on single core Intel Atom Z2420, which is optimized for Android devices, making sure that all apps runs smoothly while still maintaining power efficiency. FonePad 3mp rear camera is not something I would highlight, although I am not too fussy with it as I will never be the one who takes pics with a tablet anyway. :p Battery life?  Well, if you you can't resist the urge to check all your social media accounts every five minutes, do some stalking here and there constantly, watch video plus make calls every so often, FonePad will lasts a day. But, if you only do some strategic stalking, scroll down your Twitter timeline for updates and open websites, it can lasts for 2 days! Although, some people say that it's a bit too big to use as a phone, but if you really don't want to carry around two different gadgets that has similar function ( plus don't mind having people starring when you hold it against your ear), ASUS FonePad can meet your many needs. I played with it for no longer than 15 minutes and I can tell you that  ASUS FonePad is a good value for your money. Price : IDR 2,899,000. <a rel="attachment wp-att-60174" href="http://www.fashionesedaily.com/blog/2013/08/01/techie-thursday-asus-fonepad-and-fonepad-note/asus-fonepad-note-fhd-6-635-1/"><img class="aligncenter size-large wp-image-60174" title="ASUS-Fonepad-Note-FHD" src="//www.fashionesedaily.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/ASUS-Fonepad-Note-FHD-6-635-1-600x561.jpg" alt="" width="600" height="561" /></a> &nbsp; <ul> 	<li>FonePad Note FHD 6</li> </ul> Apparently, another Note has come diving into the smartphone slash tablet market. At a glance, FonePad Note does look similar to other notes. Smaller than its 7" predecessor, FonePad Note has a 6" display, making it more socially acceptable to hold it against your ear, huh? As you can see on the image above, it also has a front speaker that boosts up stereo sound with SonicMaster. Loaded with a stylus, 8mp rear camera, 2GB of RAM and powered with dual-core Intel Atom Atom Z2560 (yes, the Clover Trail+ I've been raving about!), FonePad Note seems pretty well prepared to compete with the current market leader, which is a good thing,  of course.  Too bad it hasn't been launched globally just yet.  But now you know that this device might be worth the wait. :) Price : TBA Verdict Both the FonePad and FonePad Note have Super IPS display. Aside from having a wide viewing angle, IPS (In-Plane switching) offers a better brightness factor in direct sunlight and it has the distinct advantage of offering more accurate color profiles too. Long story short, you will still be able to see everything clearly, even in direct sunlight without having to squint your eyes or adjusting your phone's brightness setting. Also, ASUS has added some of its own apps to both FonePads; AudioWizard, Power Saver, Asus Story and Floating Apps. I personally enjoy Floating Apps- it allows me to multitask and it can be accessed anytime through a special menu button. If you ask me which one should you buy? Well, it depends on your personal preference: tablet or phone. I haven't seen any phablet that can perform perfectly on both sides of the world yet, so you'd still have to choose :) </div>
