What is it with beauty brands and trying to re-formulate (and not just improving) an already perfect product and ruining it with giving a different texture and even effect. I almost weep when I received a press release on the new Clinique Moisture Surge Intense Skin Fortifying Hydration and thought that it will be the death of my all time favourite Clinique Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief. The later became my favourite because of its gel formula that just really feel relieving on my very dry skin. I can always use it as my additional moisturizer on top of my usual moisturizer, should I feel the need for extra hydration.
But I spoke too soon. Because apparently Clinique has done a very great job in delivering a new product (instead of replacing the old one) to their staple moisturizer, launched way back in 1988. This new one is ultra hydrating and it’s enough for me to use at night. It’s light, like the original one, but the texture is cream instead of gel. But still, absorbed by the skin so fast.
