Who Do You Want To Be Today?

seo-img-article

Admit it—we often see strangers at the mall, on the street, or at cafes and think, “God, I love her style!” And not just towards strangers. Sometimes we also throw envious look at our girl friend on that last night-out because she dressed so damn fine. How did she do it?

If all that sound familiar, then you’ll love I Want to Be Her. It’s 50% street-style blog, 50% fashion blog, and 100% fabulous. The founder, Andrea Linett, used to be an editor at Sassy and also Lucky magazine. She developed a habit of stopping adorable women on the streets of New York and asks them about their style. She said, “I want to be a different woman every day. Sometimes I see her on the street, sometimes I see her in a magazine, but I always want to try her clothes on even if it’s just for one day.”

So with her friend Anne Johnston Albert, Andrea created I Want to Be Her in 2010. It features random women’s style, complete with styling tips and detailed info on where readers can buy everything they need to get the whole look. Some of them are spotted on the streets, some are imagined by Andrea and presented through Anne’s sketches.

I Want to Be Her becomes a major success, and Andrea recently landed a book deal based on the blog. The book introduces us to 50 women across five eras of Andrea’s life—some strangers, some friends, some close confidantes—who each made a lasting impression and helped her form Andrea’s personal style. Reviews already raved about this fun, warm, non-pretentious fashion memoir, and I can’t wait to grab one myself!
