How to Dress For an Interview

seo-img-article

We’ve done an article on the must-haves item to nail a job interview, but since this is something that is still fresh on my mind, I thought it would be useful if I share just a simple ‘what to wear’ guide to an interview. The last interview that I did was when I applied for the position to join the Fashionese Daily team 😀

Dressing up for an interview is very important.  You don’t want to ruin the only shot you’ve got and you want to impress the interviewer by how you look.  First thing first, you have to know and understand the company’s personality.  If you apply to work for a bank, law firm or IT company like I used to, it’s a little bit more conservative.  If you come to the interview with color blocking outfit for your interview day, let’s say bright yellow pants mix with purple shirt and use white blazer to tone it down a little bit, they might think you’re a little weird or you’re sending the wrong signal.

Black pantsuit/skirt mix with white shirt.  Are you familiar with this combination?  This is like the safest option we got.  But it’s not the only one!  You can still feel safe , not too much, not over or under dressed, but adding a little trendy and chic won’t hurt, right?

Here are the tips :

1.  Many people think having black pantsuit, black skirt and black dress is a must.  I agree.  Make sure you have them in your closet.  Although sometimes black looks boring, you can mix black with ANY color to get a more modern look.  Another color options is wearing earth tone or soft pastel color.
