What I really liked about attending Mercedes-Benz Miami Fashion Week Swim – apart from the obvious runway shows and backstage hustle and bustle – was to spend time around the pool side of The Raleigh hotel, where the fashion week took place. It was a really nice set up. The pool area was gorgeous, the weather was almost always perfect – not too hot as we usually start coming at around 6 PM – and there were interesting things going on around the tent. There’s an open bar where champagne, wine and cocktails kept on flowing from, a BBQ stand which gave this irresistible smell of grilled meat and sausages everytime I passed by and of course, the sponsor cabanas. These were where sponsors of Mercedes-Benz Miami Fashion Week Swim held various activities for the guests during the fashion week. I noticed that one of the busiest cabanas were Make Up For Ever.
Make Up For Ever Cabana at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim is like a mini makeup school. Not only attendees can get a quick touch up to their makeup, they can also learn a series of quick, interactive make up lessons which included expert application techniques and how to achieve Miami-inspired looks so they can become their own pros. The Cabana was open before, during and after each evening’s events and like I said, every time I passed by, it was always full of women eager to learn new makeup tips and tricks. Also, so they wouldn’t forget the lessons, each attendee received a take home Flash Card with step-by-step instructions so it would be easier for them to re-create the looks at home.
The must-try lessons included:
I got my mini makeup lesson on the first day of the fashion week. As I tend to focus my makeup on my lips (because it’s the easiest for me), this time I chose Pool Side Pop look to give my eyes a pop of summer colors. You can achieve the same look by following these steps:
So this is the finished look. Isn’t it pretty? This look really suited the atmosphere of Mercedes-Benz Miami Fashion Week Swim – vibrant and fun!
