Design is an important element in the creative industry, fashion industry as example. That’s why gantibaju.com, an online store offering T-shirts designed by young Indonesian designers, initiated Nirmana Award. So for all graphic designers age 18 to 24 years old, be ready for it!

Nirmana Award is a competition for young graphic designers. Nirmana Award is presented by Nirmana Committee, a team consisting of people in the creative industry, professionals and design associations (Asosiasi Desain Grafis Indonesia, Forum Desain Grafis Indonesia and advertising associations (Art Directors Club, PPPI).

If you are interested to participate in Nirmana Award, you can choose from 6 categories, each judged by the expert of the field. Here are the categories and the judges:
- Illustration category: Triyadi Guntur, Mayumi Haryoto and Chris Lie
- Digital Imaging category: Bona Soetirto, Dhanank Pambayun and Heru Suryoko
- Typography category: Eric Wijaya, Suryanto Rustan and Yasser Rizki
- Motion Graphic category: Firman Mahda, Wahyu Aditya and Isha Hening
- Comic Strip category: Beng Rahadian and Mice Misrad
- T-shirt design category: Dendi Darman, Dicky Dixieland and Rahmat Rekarupa
In addition to the judges above, Nirmana Award will also present some creative-preneurship figures in marketing communication, such as Ayip Bali, Yoris Sebastian, Danny Oei, Djoko Hartanto and Arif Budiman.
In conjunction with the competition, Nirmana Award is also holding a roadshow from February 20 to May 26, 2012. During the roadshow, Nirmana Award team visits 27 campuses in various cities of Indonesia such as Jakarta, Bandung, Yogyakarta, Malang, Surabaya and Bali. After the roadshow, participants will be able to submit the soft copy of their designs to nirmanaward.com.
On top of the roadshow, Nirmana Award is holding other activities like Creative Gathering on May 24, Public Vote on May 21- 27, Designs Presentation on May 26. At last, the Awarding Night will be held on May 27, 2012.
