Keep the Shine Away Under Extreme Heat

seo-img-article

Is it just me or the weather is getting really hot lately? Maybe because we’ve been walking out more often under the sun for lunch so I feel really exposed to the extreme heat. One thing that I take notice of is that my makeup will melt away afterwards. So here are few steps to make sure that your makeup stays put even if you’re out in the sun for a long time.

1. Use setting spray to make sure that your makeup last longer. We don’t need to tell you again how important it is to use a makeup primer so that your face makeup last longer, right? But there’s another brilliant product that will keep your makeup melt-free under extreme heat, the All Nighter Long-Lasting Makeup Setting Spray from Urban Decay will be your best friend for sure. It promises to keep your makeup last up to 16 hours, the product that is produced in partnership with SKINDINÄVIA cost $29.

2. Pick loose powder that gives mattifying effect so that it will blot away all the shine from your face. MAC Prep+Prime Transparent Finishing Powder ($23) is one of those powders that give a nice matte finish but it also give a silky finish to your complexion. It minimizes the look of pores, lines and imperfections.

3. A light sunscreen to protect you from the evil sun rays. Choose one that has a light texture so it wouldn’t feel too oily under the heat and it absorbs easily. Make sure that it has protection above SPF30 and gives a broad spectrum protection from UVA and UVB. The newest addition from L’occitane Angelica UV Shiled SPF 40 (Rp470,000) would be a great choice under the current weather. The consistency feels almost like liquid and it instantly feels cool on my face.

4. Blot your sebum away with a blotting paper because if you keep them for far too long, your face will become much more oilier and it will melt away your makeup. Choose blotting sheets made from paper so it will not rub your makeup off like the one made from films. My current favourite is the Menard blotting paper that is small in size so I can tug them easily on my small makeup case but it consists of 150 papers.
