We only have 2 more days in 2010 and as usual, we spent the last few days looking back to what we have done for the past 12 months. The girls and I were just chatting in the office a few days ago about some beauty products that we’ve tried this year. Some were good, some were beyond our expectation, some left no impression at all.  But among those products, there is at least one product that we fell in love with and immediately marked as favorite 😀

Here they are, our Best Beauty Find of 2010!

Lena

Wardah Olive Soft Scrub (Rp. 24.000)
The texture is just right, the scent is great, the price is right, and it’s easily available. It works for the face, the lips, hands and feet, basically the whole body. In short: perfect (well, at least until something better comes along).

Deszell

Giorgio Armani Face Fabric Foundation ($45)
It has a semi-matte finish but contains a soft shimmer particles that make my face glow but not too much. It also has a light consistency and sheer coverage which are perfect to be worn on a very hot day, as it doesn’t feel heavy on your face. Although the coverage is sheer but it’s enough to even out your skin tone and cover minor imperfection. The mousse-like formula is really easy to blend if you need to do your makeup real fast!

Rizka

Maybelline Magnum Mascara
As Mbak Affi reviewed on her article The Battle of Mascaras, this mascara gives dramatic fullness to the lashes. It stays well for hours so I don’t need to re-apply it. Moreover, I find that this mascara lengthen my lashes too when I stroke the brush in upright movement.

Vanya

Lancome Genifique Youth Activating Concentrate (around $78)
It works wonder for my very dry skin. It makes my skin more supple and brighter even on the first day. I use it every night and in the morning my skin looks so much healthier. No dry spot and I am almost sure it glows. I also love the smooth texture that glides on my skin. The price is a bit too expensive for me, but since I only need to use 3 drops for the whole face and very happy with the result, I consider it as investment for my skin 😀

Hanzky

Lancome Le Crayon Kohl (Rp. 200.000)
I got this gem as a gift with purchase when I purchased the Lancome eye cream. Being someone who rarely wears eyeliner, I wasn’t too excited about it. Especially that it looks just like any other pencil. But one day I tried it on anyway and surprised that I liked it a lot. It feels creamy and glides on effortlessly. It creates a nice line on my eyes even though my hand is always shaky when I apply it. This eye pencil has successfully converted me to an eyeliner wearing girl. I love it a lot that when I lost it (somewhere in my mother in law’s room when Jehan took my makeup case there…and I didn’t have the guts to search it through her vanity table :D) I splurged that 200,000 to get a new one! But this should last me through 2011 and beyond :D, so it’s worth it!

Lita

Clinique Quickliner (about Rp. 180.000)
I first tried this liner, which belonged to my sister, when I was still in college. Makeup wasn’t one of my hobbies then so I didn’t feel the need to buy it. But when the beauty bug has finally gotten to me ever since I joined FD forum, I started buying some eyeliners. I tried liquids and pencils from other brands but then I remembered about Clinique Quickliner so I bought the black one. I find it super easy to use. I consider myself to be an ‘amateur’ in makeup application so having a fool-proof eyeliner, which allows me to draw a neat line, is very important and this is what I got from Quickliner (as the name suggests). The staying power is also decent. Having said that, I think I’m going to get another one, not because I finished the first one but because I broke it! (see, I told you I’m an amateur). All in all, I really really love this eyeliner…even though until now I have no idea what the other end of the liner is used for –> Note from Affi: you use it to smudge the liner to create a softer effect, Lita. Now you know 😀

Syita

MAC Viva Glam Gaga Lipstick (Rp. 210.000)
I first tried this lipstick when I was participating in the Mazda2 & FD Travel in Style Rally – in the MAC challenge – a few months ago and I instantly fell in love with its gorgeous color. The light blue-based pale barbie pink color is very wearable. Its lustre finish makes my lips look soft and smooth. I love the ultra feminine feel this lipstick gives me every time I wear it 🙂

Affi

Make Up For Ever HD Microfinish Blush in #6 (Coral/Quickie) (Rp. 325.000)
Actually, even though I was the one who came up with this yearly post, I think I’m the one who has the most trouble picking one favorite for the whole year. Seriously. I mean, I tried and tested so many beauty products and some of them really blew me away and I treasure them dearly, how am I supposed to pick JUST ONE as favorite? It’s like asking a mom of 3 children which one is her favorite! (mulai lebay)

But anyway, I re-read all the reviews I wrote this year, as well as taking a peek at my makeup case and skincare drawer and I decided that, among all the great products I came across, Make Up For Ever HD Blush is my best beauty find of 2010. I’ve written a complete review (with pictures) in this post, but to sum it up; this blush is easy to blend, delivers a pretty, natural-looking, peachy-pink color to my face and is long lasting too! To wear it on its own is incredible, but when I top it off with a highlighter (my pick is MAC Mineralize Skinfinish Petticoat), it is simply magic.

How about you? What is your best beauty find in 2010? We’d like to hear it!
