In the middle of traffic hours in Jakarta, I managed to visit one of Indonesia’s rising fashion designers, Barli Asmara. It was not that hard to make an interview appointment with him in his minimalist yet chic showcase. With smile and laugh during supervising work towards his assistants and workers, this Bandung born fashion designer greeted me in his own made white shirt with crossed shawl embellishment in the front and black pantaloon complimented with Gucci loafers, Bvlgari watch, and ivory leather woven bracelet from Bottega Veneta. After I took some pictures of him and his works for visual related materials, then we both sat together face to face on his work table made from glass and had this quite long chit chat accompanied by teh botol, rujak buah, nasi goreng and kwetiaw goreng tek tek.
