Fashion is You is the world’s foremost street style competition, with the largest numbers of contestants/style trailblazers walking through the Galeries Lafayette in Paris. When Galeries Lafayette opened in Indonesia, the competition came over with it as well, giving Indonesian fashionistas the opportunity to prove their salt in the style department at their sprawling Pacific Place domain. We were all over the show when the first ever Fashion is You contest took place in 2012; we watched 144 men and women compete for the grand prize in front of Biyan in 2013; and this 2014 will mark the third iteration of the contest, which promises to be as fabulous as ever.
The judging panel this year is a veritable all-woman list of Jakarta’s style movers and shakers: contestants should be prepared to parade their style best in front of fashion stylist Dewi Utari, model and actress Rianti Cartwright, and our very own Affi Assegaf. The judges will select two winners to receive a grand prize each, consisting of a Galeries Lafayette gift card worth IDR 10mio, return Jakarta-Paris tickets from Air France, and much more.
