Battle of the Week: Maybelline Hypersharp vs Revlon Colorstay Liquid Eye Pen

seo-img-article

As you may know, if there were a list called Top Ten Laziest People in South Jakarta, I would be on that list. I already talked about this particular personality defect of mine in my article where I worshiped the cream blush for its simple application and lasting power.

But there’s another beauty product that appeals to my lazy side: the liquid eyeliner in marker form. While nowhere as potent as their wand counterparts, they’re far more practical and less messy, making them ideal travel or touch-up companions. The liquid eyeliner marker  I already had was the Maybelline Hypersharp liner (thanks too the enthusiastic recommendation made by Griss). I thought it would be fun to see how it would perform against another budget liquid liner, and pitted it against the Revlon Colorstay Liquid Eye Pen.

The tips of each pen differed, which affected the application of the product: the felt tip of the Maybelline Hypersharp was softer, finer, and more flexible. Despite its precise fine tip, application was fairly simple, even for a first-timer.

The tip of the Revlon Colorstay was thicker and stiffer, which should make it the ideal candidate if you’re into thick, broad lines. But the stiffness of the felt tip also meant that applying it on the sensitive skin of the eyelid felt like I was having my eyes scratched out by an angry koala.

I applied a stroke of ink to each eyelid in the morning and went on with my day to test which was less resistant to smudging. Click on through to see how each pen performed throughout the course of a workday!
