Techie Thursday: Nokia Lumia 625

Nokia is a brand which I’m sure plenty of us have an emotional attachment to: in 2000, I received my first mobile phone in the form of the seemingly indestructible Nokia 3310 (rumor has it that it was forged in the heart of a dying star), while 2002 marked the last time I stayed loyal to the brand when I put away my Nokia 3610. Since then, I’ve dabbled with about 5-6 other mobile phone manufacturers, but none of them stoked the loyal affection I harbored for the Finnish manufacturer.

I was so pleased, then, when I got my hands on the brand spankin’ new Nokia Lumia 625, in the hopes of rekindling said affection. Unlike so many of my previous smartphones, this one came with a yellow plastic shell casing which is interchangeable with a rainbow of other casing color options (to suit today’s outfit, maybe?). The brightly-hued casing options make it look like a toy at first, but the weight and feel of a proper smartphone comes in once it is palmed safely in your hand.
