Yosafat Dwi Kurniawan Shares His S/S '14 Vision

seo-img-article

From September 24 – October 2, the world’s fashion royalty descended upon France for Paris Fashion Week. We lived vicariously through Affi during that one magical week, who became stuck in the thick of Paris Fashion Week action when she landed front-row seats at some positively fabulous shows. Some of her adventures were documented on our Instagram account, where we oohed and aahed at her real-time coverage.

We reported a few weeks ago how four Indonesian designers would be sent to PFW through the Fashion Forward program, where they were expected to work the charm (and business) offensive at the Buyers Room. The Buyers Room is where fashion buyers, boutique owners, e-tailers, wholesalers, and a slew of other industry professionals from all over the world mingle for business. One of these designers was none other than Yosafat Dwi Kurniawan, who we spoke to before his departure to Paris. Check out what he had to say about the crossroads of fashion and business, what he wants to achieve with his line, and which fashion designers he’d like to hang out with:

Yosafat will debut his S/S ’14 collection at Jakarta Fashion Week, which is due to take place between October 19-25 at Senayan City. Two fashion tents have been erected on the street right on the street next to Senayan City, and a whole lot more will take place inside the mall during the length of the festivities. For instance, The Body Shop will set up a booth to help attendees get ready by offering free make up services. L’Oreal Professionnel has also done something in a similar vein, by offering free hairstyling services to JFW attendees.

So yeah, you can say we’re more than excited to see what this year’s JFW has in store, and Yosafat’s show will be something I’m personally looking forward to! Whose collection are you most excited to see this year?
