Where to Shop When Stopping by Singapore

There’s already a lot of conversation over at our sister site, Travelers Daily, about how there are always new discoveries to be had in Singapore. But while I am a big advocate of purposely throwing away the map to deliberately lose yourself in alien streets and alleyways when traveling, there’s also a reason why I write for Fashionese Daily: for one, I completely understand justifying the need to purposely make a beeline for the nearest central shopping district to get your fashion and beauty fix. Take fashion, for example: Singapore has a pretty cool indie fashion scene, and one such label that I’ve enjoyed from afar is FruFru & Tigerlily. I love the minimalism and drama in their pieces, but more than that is how I love the story behind each and every piece. You see, the ehereal aesthetic of everything they produce is sonically-sourced, with every dress and separate named after the song or lyric that inspired that particular piece. Two of my favorites from their Like Wolves collection are the Coughing Up Butterflies and Flying Dream dresses.
