I’ve been eyeing Maybelline Color Tattoo since they first launched it at the end of last year. I have watched many makeup video tutorials on YouTube using and saying great things about them, I also read a lot of good reviews about the shades, seriously, A LOT. And when my aunt came to Indonesia last week, I literally couldn’t stop smiling when she gave me these. FINALLY… *dancing*
Maybelline claims the Color Tattoo is able to wear up to 24 hours, and it gives you the most intense, long-lasting color saturation. The cream formula glides on without creasing and keeps color vibrant and these are ophthalmologist-tested, safe for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers.
The permanent line comes with 10 colors, from neutrals to brights. And recently, Maybelline released the Fall Limited Edition with 8 new colors. OMG, I wish and I really wish Maybelline Color Tattoo is available in Indonesia. I feel like I want to grab them all! Anyway, what I have is 4 shades from the permanent line, Too Cool, Taugh as Taupe, Bad to the Bronze and Fierce & Tangy. Let’s take a look!

This is similiar to MAC Paint Pots and MUFE Aqua Creams. I have to, have to have to tell you this, I LOVE THE FORMULATION! It’s creamy, very pigmented, and they are very easy to blend, just use your fingers, apply it on your lid and blend it, that’s it and you’re eyes are ‘ready’ 🙂 The only color that less creamy is Fierce & Tangy, it’s thicker but still works good on my eyelid as a base for eyeshadow.
I love all of them but my favourite is Tough as Taupe because this is a matte greyish taupe with slight purple tone in it, such a great color for everyday. It doesn’t scream “I’m wearing eyeshadow” and you can’t find the similar color with cheap price as Maybelline offers. When I want my eyes to be more glammed up but still look neutral, Bad to the Bronze is the one. Too Cool is great for highlight the inner corner, or as a base of eyeshadow.
They’re great to be used on their own or under powder eyeshadow. I have worn these since the day I got them and they have been “the main star” in my makeup routine. For 24-hour claim, I don’t know for sure because, hellooo, who’s wearing makeup for that long? But if someone does, I bet Color Tattoo will do fine all day long. 🙂
Maybelline Color Tattoo retails for $6 roughly, that is waaaay cheaper than other high-end brands. Amazing quality and cheap price, quite a steal, too, right?
