Battle of the Week: Skin79 Oriental Gold Vs. Bobbi Brown BB Cream

seo-img-article

Talking about BB Cream, first thing that comes to my mind is ‘KOREA’.  Anyone with me? 🙂

Many Korean artists known to be using BB Cream, and turns out a lot people like it and want to have a healthy glow flawless skin like the idols.  I think all of Korean Cosmetic companies have BB Cream in their line, let’s say Etude House, Holika Holika, Skin79, BRTC, Innisfree, Missha, etc.

The original BB Cream is supposed to be makeup and skincare in one product.  You get the light to medium coverage you get from skin base, as well as treatment for the skin. The kind of treatment is depending on which BB Cream that you choose. There are many types of BB Cream available: ones to improve skin texture and any skin trouble, anti wrinkle and anti aging, oil control, whitening, etc.  And you also get the protection, that’s why every BB Cream has SPF to protect skin against UV rays.  Korean BB Creams tend to be thick and have a slight gray tone in it. FD even had its own fair share of BB Cream Craze where they first started couple of years ago, a two-part article (part 1 and part 2) which worth to read for, if you’re unfamiliar with BB Cream.

So when I saw almost every US companies started to bringing out their own BB Cream, don’t blame me for being a little bit skeptical. Some of them labeled tinted moisturizer or as BB Cream and the product itself lack of providing skincare properties.  But of course there are some of them that has good quality too.

Now let’s compare two of BB Creams.  Skin 79 Oriental Gold BB Cream (Korea) Vs. Bobbi Brown BB Cream (US).
