What is it? Max Factor Ageless Elixir 2 in 1 Foundation + Serum

The Claims: Not just your average foundation, this foundation combines foundation, anti-ageing serum and protection from the UV radiation. The next best thing when it comes to makeup; anti-ageing makeup! This foundation helps the overexposure from the sun with its SPF 15 and at the same time keeps your skin hydrated. It also contains specially treated pigments that will be able to reflect light and diffuse light from the skin to blur the appearance of fine lines.

The Star Ingredients: Contains glycerine, niacinamide, N-Acetyl glucosamine, vitamin E, allantoin, panthenol and green tea. Glycerine is known as a hydrating ingredient. Whereas N-acetyl glucosamine, a more stable version of glucosamine, has been suggested to be an effective topical treatment for skin cells that are damaged by UV exposures. N-acetyl glucosamine believed to be able to improve skin tone evenness and hyperpigmentation.

Packaging & Formula: Pump bottle with a bottle cap made from plastic bottle. It has an airtight container to keep the foundation clean from air. The texture is much like the mousse-y MAC Studio Sculpt foundation, only a bit runnier.

The Verdict

This foundation really surpasses my expectation, as a drugstore product range, Max Factor really nails it in delivering a good quality foundation with an affordable price with this product. The creamy texture of the foundation spreads easily to my skin, providing a buildable medium to full coverage. What surprises me is, even though when I first used this foundation I used too much of the product, hence resulting in a more full coverage look, but it didn’t look like I was wearing a mask because the foundation just blended right into my skin. Thus, creating one of those ‘second skin’ effect that was flawless! It also covered any imperfection without the use of concealer. Best part of it all was that the particles are so fine that it didn’t look cakey at all!

Have I said that it contains anti-ageing serum? Oh, yes I did! It’s really a good bonus to top the good foundation!

Another thing that I love about this product is that even though it gives a nice matte finish but the light-reflecting particles give a nice healthy shine to my face.

It’s also available in six different shades, and there’s even one for my medium tone!

How much? Rp 105,000

What can be improved? Would love to see the bottle to have a clear side so that I can see how much product left on the bottle. Also, it will help if the foundation can come in two tone, cool and warm. Because sometimes, Max Factor foundation can come as too yellow or too red for some people even if the shade is already right.
