Five Items to Get You through the Acnes Craze Phase

seo-img-article

I’ve been having a very uncomfortable situation with my skin, where acnes seemed to pop up every other day because of hormonal imbalances caused by my period. My skin isn’t exactly acne prone, but I’m sure there are many women out there who experienced the same problem as I do due to the monthly visitor 🙂

Here are five items that I found really help me to get through that painful one week where my skin is just being so very unfriendly:

  1. Mentholatum Acnes Foaming Wash (around Rp 25,000) is an Acnes Treatment Series that is very easy to use, all you need to do is press the pump head and it will disburse a ping pong ball sized foam right away. It has a nice soft mandarin scent and is able to remove excess sebum and dirt without being really drying. With isopropylmethylphenol that will remove bacteria from your skin and help prevent acnes from getting worse or the possibility of new one popping up.
  2. Kiehl’s Blue Astringent Herbal Lotion (Rp 295,000 for 250ml) actually feels too harsh on my dry skin on normal condition. But it’s perfect to be used during this time of the month because this blue astringent toner really help in drying out the acnes so it won’t aggravate it and it also help the healing process.
  3. I would then continue with compressing my acne with Menard Beauness S (Rp 660,000) using cotton pad. I’ve written a full review on Beauness S before, not only that it helps your skin in time of change but also it will help to soothe your acne. I don’t really see the difference right away, but with Beauness S I found the acne get better faster.
  4. Because I’ve been depriving my skin of any excess moisturizer with this routine, I opt for My Beauty Diary Mask to give me a soothing and cooling effect. I choose the yoghurt range because they come in a various berry scents which is really nice and even though the mask is very liquid-y and moisturizing, the yoghurt range is supposed to control excess sebum so it will dry off to a nice matte finish. At this condition, what I want is a skin that is hydrated enough but not creating too much sebum to aggravate the condition of my acnes. You can get My Beauty Diary Mask at Moporie for Rp 18,000 per piece.
  5. Lastly, I put a clear gel Clinique Acne Solutions Spot Healing Gel (Rp 235,000) treatment to heal the acne. It dries to a nice clear film so I won’t be having any trouble if I want to wear my makeup. Also I found this as one of the best acne spot treatment that I’ve ever tried because it really does help heal my acnes.

I used these products only when my skin is in acne prone situation. As for the moisturizer, to make sure that my face gets hydrated enough I opt for moisturizer that targeted to sensitive skin during this period.

So, do you have a product that helps you in combating acnes?
