One thing I learned after trying on so many different complexion products is this: I don’t like powder foundation. I know it’s still a popular product that women keep buying because of its practicality, but to be honest, very few powder foundations give me the complexion I want. Being in powder formula, they tend to sit on your face instead of blending in with your skin. It’s also hard to achieve that dewy look that I love so much with this type of product as it tends to give you an “opaque” finish. And another reason why powder foundations aren’t my favorite is because layering products becomes next to impossible especially when we’re using emollient products such as liquid highlighters or gel blush. Can you imagine putting on creamy blush after a powder foundation? It sounds messy right?

For everyday use, I use tinted moisturizer or BB cream instead and one product I’ve been using everyday for the past few weeks is Maybelline B.B Cream

If you don’t like liquid foundations that feel heavy on your skin, you really should give Maybelline B.B Cream a try. It’s so  sheer so it’s easy to blend and feels weightless on the face too. It boasts the benefit of 8 things for your face: brightening, evening out skin tone, softer, smoother, cleaner, hide fine lines and with its SPF 0f 26 it can also protect your face from the harmful sun rays.

As for practicality, it takes me about 2 minutes to put it on (maybe even less if you can move faster than me :D). Basically, I just squirted about a small amount on the back of my hand (as seen on picture below), dot the cream on my forehead, nose, cheeks and chin, and blend it thoroughly using a buffing brush. Don’t be surprised if it turns out lighter than your skin tone. Give it time and it will sink into your skin and blend with your natural skin tone.

You might wonder why Maybelline B.B Cream is available in one shade only but the fact is, it’s really a one-shade-fits-all kind of product. It’s been tested by Deszell, whose skin is a few shades darker than mine, and when she wears it, her face doesn’t look whiter, it just looks brighter! Her tips is to apply only a small amount on the face and blend it really well with a large kabuki brush. If it’s still a tad too light for you, Deszell recommends finishing it with powder, loose or compact, in a darker shade.

I didn’t use too many colors on my face on this picture because I wanted to show how clear my complexion looks thanks to Maybelline B.B Cream. I just put on a little blush and Maybelline Fruity Jelly which smells so delish 😀

Because my skin is quite oily, I do need to blot my face a few times during the day especially if I’m sweating  but that’s fine with me. Usually after I use blot paper or tissue (whichever is within my arms’ reach :D), I end up with a bright and dewy complexion which is ultimately what I’m after!

Maybelline B.B Cream is available in all Maybelline New York retail counters nationwide and retails for..wait for it…Rp. 35.000! The tube is small enough for you to slip it into your purse and with that price, you can buy 2 or 3 and stash them in your house, office and car 😀
