seo-img-article

This post has been long overdue, but I really need to share this with you. With batik gaining more and more popularity nowadays, it’s easier for us to get batik at more affordable price. There are also many style to choose from.

Edward Hutabarat is among one of the many designers who has been exploring batik for his design. He has been in the industry for 30 years and not only he’s a designer but he’s also known as an art curator. In September 2006, Edward Hutabarat showcased his first collection under the label “Part One” which is his second line. It’s the result of his nine years explorations with Batik which he then translated into something breezy, chic, simple, multifunction and colourful. You can see how rich his collection is from the variety of design that he used.

Edward Hutabarat stressed out during the press conference for his collaboration with PT KAO Indonesia for “Cintaku Pada Batik Takkan Pernah Pudar” campaign explained that batik is not just an ordinary textile, it’s not inscribe but it’s painted with heart. There’s a very long process involved in creating batik that is full of taste and aesthetics value in it. So there’s no wonder at all that batik can be quite pricey, depending on the complexity of it’s production.

Without further ado, here are some pictures from Part One by Edward Hutabarat.
