Roberto Cavalli, who turns 70 on Nov. 15 this year, celebrates his 40th year contributing in fashion industry on Sept. 23. During his 40 years in fashion, Cavalli has made several revolutionary such as  printed knitwear, strech jeans and special-treated leather. He was the first who treated leather as fabric.

Beside those all, animal print has always been a major part of Cavalli’s creation, even after four decades. The variation covers Siberian wolves, spotted feathers, metallic jaguars and the design continues.

This flamboyant designer marked the festive with various activities. First off all, he held his anniversary show, Monday, Sept. 27 in taking part in Milan Fashion Week. His spectacular venue was lined by equally spectacular models such as Erin Wasson, Laetitia Casta and Natalia Vodianova.

Not only that, in conjunction with his 40th anniversary, Cavalli also launched his Diva bag. The bag comes in three sizes and seven materials ranging from denim to python to calfskin leather. New fruity-floral perfume titled Anniversary was released too.

And the list goes on. Book titled Roberto Cavalli was also published. It documents Cavalli heritage of ideas. And now, a Virtual Museum, where you can take a look at some of their best dresses from the last 40 years, has been introduced. I’ve checked the virtual museum here, it’s awesome!

Cavalli also made a gala dinner and bash on Sept. 29 at L’Ecole Nationale, Paris. The designer chose Paris because he had his first fashion there in 1970 there. That fabulous party is said to be costing over US$ 2 million. Rachel Bilson, Carine Roitfeld, Heidi Klum and many other celebrities were among the guest-list.

Even though we’re not invited to the party, we would like to congratulate: Happy 40th anniversary, Cavalli!
