As Fashion’s Night Out rolled out in New York on the 10 September, the festivities didn’t just happen there. It was apparently also replicated to the other part of the world, more specifically our part of the world. Sydney, New Delhi, Tokyo and Beijing carried on with the celebration where VOGUE international are also published on these countries.

It all started out in Sydney on Thursday. As the newest member in the FNO ran their event successfully despite the heavy rain pouring down the city that night. Australian actresses such as Cate Blanchett and Miranda Otto was seen to be hanging out with the Sydneysiders during this event.

There’s music played by the Australian Chamber Orchestra at the Tiffany & Co. Live fashion shoot of Chanel’s fall/winter collection in the basement of Chanel flagship in Sydney with Vogue Australia commissioned photographer Max Doyle. Most interestingly customers can also performed DIY syling sessions in photo booths at Hermès, Gucci and Louis Vuitton.

Kirstie Clements editor of Vogue Australia said that they’re already planning next year’s event seeing how positive the response was, “It’s that whole idea of the customer being part of the fashion experience. It’s loud and clear that that’s what they want.”

The next stop is New Delhi where the Bollywood star mingled with the commoners. On Friday the Delhi’s extravagant Emporio Mall were swamped with thousands of people. The fashion shows lined up for that night were India’s leading designer such as Suneet Varma showcasing the world’s longest sari to date and Tarun Tahiliani where the models were dressed in both traditional Indian saris and western cocktail dresses. Like any other FNO, there’s always a catch worth to chase down. That night in Delhi was the Manish Arora and Rajesh Pratap Singh limited edition t-shirts that were sold at $11 a pop!

Tokyo and Beijing followed the festivities on Saturday night, wrapping up the FNO in this part of the world.

Beijing FNO was celebrated with a lot of Chinese actors and models scattered on several retailers at the luxurious China World Mall. There’s a Vogue concept store at the building selling items from 15 luxury brands such as Fendi, Gucci and Salvatore Ferragamo. It is not as crowded as the two previous cities since this event seemed to target only the  high-end consumers. But on that night most of the retailers there offered special incentives and discounts to the shoppers, which to most women are very interesting indeed.

Tokyo seemed to be more alive than Beijing with Hip Hop dancer Kento Mori performed a tribute to Michael Jackson followed by a fashion show at the Omotesando Hills with Ai Tominaga and drag queen Ikko on the runway among the Japanese models.

Japanese market are known to be one of the biggest fans of luxury brands. So during this event Hermès also opened their first pop-up store in the Tokyo Mall, where they sell nothing but colourful silk scarves. At Burberry, indie rockers The Cheek were seen to played two short sets, where the lead singer of the band Rory Cottam also appears in Burberry’s fall ad campaign. Most stores seemed to offer their own special treat for the night to catch the customers’ interest.
