We all know the ladies who frequent our Face Of The Day threads (FOTD) have makeup skills that can give professionals a run for their money, now it’s time to show it off! shu uemura Indonesia is having its first time ever regional makeup competition with the hope of calling all makeup lovers to explore and develop their unique makeup talents.
This contests is open for 2 categories: professionals and novice. Please read the following info on how you can participate!
Detailed steps on how to join the 2009 shu uemura makeup competition:
1. CATEGORY SELECTION (choose the category you qualify in):
Novice: for aspiring makeup artists or those who simply love makeup
Professional: for experienced makeup artists
2. THEME: MOTHER NATURE
The 2009 shu uemura makeup competition focuses on “mother nature” in order to give tribute to our earth which brings life to us all. Thus, let the earth and its beautiful natural surroundings – the sea, sand, sky, trees, flowers, mountains, etc, be the source of your makeup inspiration.
3. APPLICATION FORM
Novice: Submit form and a sketch of your makeup with brief description of your concept/inspiration (max 800 characters).
Professional: Submit form and photo (minimum 4 x 6 in.) of your makeup on a model with brief description of your concept/inspiration (max 800 characters).

4. APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
An application fee of only Rp100.000 and purchase of 2 shu uemura products are required to join the competition. All applicants may avail of a 10% discount in Plaza Senayan & Kelapa Gading branches!
Applicants in Jakarta: Visit any shu uemura counter to pay the Rp100.000 application fee, purchase 2 products and submit your application form (with sketch/photo and concept).
Applicants outside Jakarta: Contact 0813 836 100 44 to learn how to pay the Rp100.000 application fee and orders 2 products (all payments through bank transfer). Once these have been paid, shu uemura will be responsible for sending the products to your doorstep within 5 days upon payment. You may send your application form (with sketch/photo & concept ) to PT L’oreal Indonesia Graha Surya Internusa, 5th fl, Jl. HR Rasuna Said Kav. X-O, Jakarta 12950 addressed to Ms. Tiara Permata.
Submission of all requirements can be done anytime between 7 Aug – 30 Sept.
5. WINNERS SELECTION & PRIZES
Novice: 5 finalists will be selected. All finalists will win a 1-on-1 makeup session with our accredited makeup artist and have the chance to display their sketches in shu uemura counters. 1st place will receive Rp10.000.000 worth of products. Announcement of 5 finalists & winner: 7 Oct.
Professional: 30 semi-finalists will be selected, and they will participate in a live makeup demonstration in which a panel of judges will select 5 finalists. The 5 finalists will be featured in a high-end fashion magazine. 1st and 2nd place will win Rp15.000.000 worth of products, a 1-year shu uemura makeup associate contract and represent Indonesia in the makeup competition finals in KL. The winner of the finals will have his/her own beauty spread in a regional beauty magazine!
Announcement of 30 semi-finalists: 7 Oct.
Live makeup demonstration for 30 semi-finalists: 19 Oct.
Regional finals in KL with 2 finalists: 28 Oct.
